ULAN BATOR, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- A wrestling competition for Mongolians around the world kicked off in Ulan Bator, Mongolia on Sudnay.
There were 128 wrestlers from Inner Mongolia of China, Russian Buryatia, Tuva, Altai, Kalmykia and Mongolia competing in the -85kg and over 85kg classes.
After five rounds, Mongolia's "national elephant" Sonjdanv and Burgan province "Lion" Amarsankhan won the over 85kg and -85kg respectively, and each bagged seven million tugrug (about 5,000 U.S. dollars) bonus.
Wrestling is one of the Mongolian traditional sports. Before the start of a contest, traditional hymn would be sung to encourage wrestlers and heighten the atmosphere. Hymn is a full range of praise for an excellent wrestler's body, skill, wisdom and morality, whose praise focused on description of champions' image and temperament.
While wrestlers enter the field, they posed like an eagle pose, waving hands and jumpping.
