Maya Moore continued her strong performance and helped Shanxi remain top of ranking with a 94-87 overtime victory over Jiangsu, the seventh straight win since her arrival, in Chinese Women's Basketball Association (WCBA) League on Saturday.
The 2011 WNBA top draft pick scored 41 points and grabbed 16 rebounds. She also made seven assists and eight steals. Four of her teammates scored double-digit points.
Jiangsu's 11-2 lead forced Shanxi to have a timeout, while Shanxi strongly bounced back later to carry a one-point lead into the second quarter.
Both teams traded advantage in the following three quarters. After they had an 80-tie into overtime, Moore stood up again. With a layup by her, Shanxi owned a six-point advantage and sealed the home victory.
Moore was not the only foreign player shining on WCBA court on Saturday. Elizebeth Cambage of Zhejiang had 40 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks to help her team edge Miao Lijie-led Shanyang Army, while the latter player scored 24 points.
During the second quarter, Cambage continually scored in the paint field of Shanyang Army, and gave her team a 55-39 lead into halftime.
Dong Xuemei helped with 25 points, and Shi Yitong handed 10 assists.
Defending champion Beijing beat Shanghai 81-75 away for a four-game winning streak. Jin Yingyu, Sofia and Zhao Hui each scored 17 points.
In other matches, Heilongjiang held off Henan 77-68, Bayi beat Liaoning 100-85 and Guangdong took a narrow win of 78-76 over Yunnan.
