DALIAN, China, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- Shanghai Greenland Shenhua ended its winless streak in the Chinese Super League here on Thursday after beating Guangzhou R&F 2-0 in Group A.

The last CSL victory for Shenhua came in the middle of August with a 1-0 win over Jiangsu Suning, followed by two defeats and five draws.

On Thursday, R&F had more ball possession, but it was Shenhua who fielded 11 native players in the starting line-up and created more real chances.

Peng Xinli broke the deadlock in the 37th minute as the midfielder burst into the box and prodded into the net from close range.

Shenhua doubled the lead eight minutes after the break when Peng's header found Bi Jinhao, who resisted a shoulder-to-shoulder challenge in the box to drill home.

Shenhua now ranks fourth with 18 points in Group A, and a victory in the last round will send it to the Final Group A of next stage, while R&F is certain to drop into the Final Group B.
