SANTIAGO, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- Substitute Radamel Falcao scored in the 91st minute as Colombia drew 2-2 with Chile in their 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier here on Tuesday.
Jefferson Lerma opened the scoring for the visitors with a seventh-minute header following a John Medina cross at Estadio Nacional.
Arturo Vidal drew the hosts level from the penalty spot after he was brought down by Lerma. Alexis Sanchez then put Chile ahead with a close-range finish after Vidal's scuffed effort fell into his path.
But Falcao, who replaced Wilmar Barrios in the 72nd minute, lashed in the equalizer after a penalty area scramble.
The result came four days after Colombia beat Venezuela 3-0 in their opening World Cup qualifier in Barranquilla. Chile lost their first match 2-1 to Uruguay.
In other South American zone qualifiers on Tuesday, Argentina beat Bolivia 2-1 in La Paz, Ecuador overcame Uruguay 4-2 in Quito, Paraguay defeated Venezuela 1-0 in Merida, and Brazil beat Peru 4-2 in Lima. Enditem
