BERLIN, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- Goals from Angelino and Yussuf Poulsen helped front-runners RB Leipzig defeat Augsburg 2-0 in the fourth round of the Bundesliga on Saturday.

Augsburg set up a well-positioned defense in the opening period, with Leipzig taking 17 minutes to get their first shot on target as Dani Olmo forced Augsburg goalkeeper Rafal Gikiewicz into action for the first time.

Just when the goalless stalemate seemed to continue into half-time, Leipzig opened the scoring in the 45th minute when Olmo shrugged off three Augsburg players on the right wing before chipping the ball to the far post where Angelino nodded home the opener.

After the restart, Leipzig came out with all guns blazing as Emil Forsberg unleashed a hammer from 20 meters in the 52nd minute, before Augsburg's Mads Pedersen had to clear Dayot Upamecano's effort off the goal line at the hour mark.

Leipzig's efforts paid off in the 66th minute as substitute Poulsen utilized his first touch of the ball to double the advantage with a volley from the edge of the box.

With the result, Leipzig secured its second straight win to stay atop the standings whereas Augsburg slumped from the 2nd to the 5th place after suffering its first defeat of the season. Enditem
