BERLIN, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Robert Lewandowski's hat-trick gifted Bayern Munich a 5-0 home win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the fifth round of Bundesliga on Saturday.
It is Bayern's fourth win from five games in the new season.
The "Bavarians" needed no warmup time as they opened the scoring only 10 minutes gone when Kingsley Coman's build-up work allowed Lewandowski to slot home.
Eintracht tried to hold the pace, but Bayern combined its way through the visitors' defence and doubled the advantage at the half-hour mark after Joshua Kimmich's corner kick found Lewandowski, who made his brace from central position.
After the restart, Hansi Flick's men controlled the proceedings and substitute Lucas Hernandez tested Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp before Lewandowski tripled the lead to mark his 10th goal in the season in the 61st minute.
The "Eagles" were unable to put up resistance whereas Bayern's Leroy Sane returned from his injury break in the 68th minute, dribbling through Frankfurt's defence to hammer home into the far corner five minutes later.
Things went from bad to worse in the dying seconds as Bayern youngster joker Jamal Musiala poked home a rebound from very close range to round off the 5-0 victory.
With the result, Bayern is staying second in the standings while Frankfurt slipped to the 6th position.
"It was a good defensive performance, and we were very efficient with our offense. What else can I say about Robert Lewandowski. He has scored three goals, ten in five games," Bayern head coach Hansi Flick said.
Elsewhere, Leipzig defended its top spot after coming from behind to overpower nine-man Hertha Berlin 2-1.
Borussia Dortmund sealed its 35th "Revierderby" victory with three second-half goals to upset Schalke 3-0.
Struggling Mainz is still without a point after losing to Borussia Monchengladbach 3-2 in a see-saw match.
Union Berlin tied 1-1 with Freiburg.
