TEHRAN, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- A delegation of Qatar's high-ranking sporting officials will visit Iran regarding the 2030 Asian Games, Iran Daily newspaper announced on Friday.
The Qatari officials will arrive in Iran on Sunday to meet with Iranian officials during their one-day stay in the capital Tehran.
Qatar seeks Iran's backing in its bid to host the 2030 Asian Games, as the Arab state competes with Saudi Arabia to win the votes.
Doha has been the host of the Asian Games in 2006 and is one of the 2022 FIFA World Cup host cities.
The host city for the 2030 edition of the Asian Games will be announced at the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) General Assembly in Muscat, Oman, on December 16. Enditem
