Zhejiang snaps Guangdong's 10-game winning streak in CBA

ZHUJI, China, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- With seven players scoring in double-digits, the Zhejiang Lions beat the Guangdong Southern Tigers 139-131 in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league here on Saturday, ending the defending champion's 10-game winning streak.

Center Hu Jinqiu led Zhejiang with 27 points and 14 rebounds, Wilson Chandler contributed 22 points and 10 rebounds while Sun Minghui added 19 points and a game-high nine assists.

Marshon Brooks notched a game-high 30 points and Zhao Rui got 24 points for Guangdong.

Chandler and Li Jinglong came off the bench to score 16 points together, giving Zhejiang a 38-24 lead in the first quarter.

Zhejiang widened the gap to over 20 points in the second quarter after Chandler made a jump shot to make it 59-37 with about three minutes remaining.

The defending champion bounced back with a 10-0 run after Zhou Peng made both free throws to cut the deficit, but Zhejiang still led 65-53 at the halftime break.

Both sides kept a high shooting percentage in the third quarter and Zhejiang maintained a double-digit advantage going into the last period.

Guangdong stormed into a 10-2 run early in the fourth quarter with five points from Marshon to cut the deficit to but failed to further narrow the gap.

Zhejiang used an 18-8 run with six points from Zhu and five points from Miroslav Radulica to obtain a double-digit advantage again with 4:19 minutes left.

Zhejiang maintained the lead in the following time, leaving Guangdong with no chance to win. Enditem
