BRATISLAVA, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- Inter Bratislava stretch its winning streak to four in the Slovak basketball premiership, beating bottom side Handlova 82-74 in the 26th round, taking fourth place away from Svit.
In Bratislava, Handlova sought its first away win of the season but was beaten for the ninth time in a row.
Bratislava has boasted the best form in the league recently. Its 2.23-meter tall center Michael Fusek scored 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the game.
The closest battle of the day was in Spisska Nova Ves where the second-ranked Spis Knights hosted third-ranked Lucenec. The see-saw duel saw both sides take turns in grabbing the lead, the home team won 91-87 in the end.
On Friday, the management of Iskra Svit decided to let go of its veteran Croatian head coach Rudolf Jugo and entrusted the team to the former assistant coach Robert Istvanik who led the players in December when Jugo battled a COVID-19 infection.
