BUENOS AIRES, Feb. 2 (Xinhua) -- Argentina international defender Marcos Rojo has revealed a "dream" to win the Copa Libertadores with Boca Juniors after joining the South American giants from Manchester United.

Rojo faced the Argentine media for the first time as a Boca player on Tuesday after signing a two-year deal with the option of a third year.

"Everyone's dream is to win the Copa Libertadores. My old man is a mad fan. We would spend the nights watching Libertadores matches. It's going to be amazing to experience it.

"The idea of playing for Boca has always been in my head. Today I was thinking, I'm going to play the superclasico [against River Plate] after seeing so many on TV. It's going to be a beautiful feeling."

Rojo has not played since ending a loan spell with Estudiantes in August. The 30-year-old parted ways with Manchester United last month after the Premier League club agreed to release him six months before his contract expired.

He is expected to make his debut for Boca when the Diego Maradona Cup starts in mid-February.

"The coach [Miguel Russo] already has a plan for me. I have two weeks to get fit," Rojo said.

Capped 61 times for Argentina's national team, Rojo made 122 appearances for the Red Devils after joining the club from Sporting Lisbon in 2014. Enditem
