MADRID, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- FC Barcelona kept their La Liga title hopes alive with a 2-0 win away to Sevilla on Saturday afternoon.

Ousmane Dembele and Leo Messi scored the goals as Barca produced a serious display in defense and midfield to limit Sevilla to very few options in attack.

Dembele put Barca ahead after being put through by Messi in the 29th minute and Messi doubled the lead with five minutes remaining.

Barca had chances for more goals in a win that will give them morale for their Copa del Rey return leg against Sevilla next Wednesday, but they will worry about injuries suffered by Pedri and Gerard Pique, while Ronald Araujo lasted just minutes before limping off after his return from an ankle injury.

Kike Barja's 77th-minute goal gave Osasuna a 1-0 win in their local derby away to Alaves, who have slipped to fourth from the bottom after three consecutive defeats. Alaves have lost six games from eight since Abelardo Fernandez took over as first-team coach.

Getafe will breathe easier after a 3-0 victory at home to Valencia ended a run of five defeats from six games which had seen them drop towards the relegation zone and put the future of coach Jose Bordalas in doubt.

Mauro Arambarri opened the scoring in the 39th minute and Juan Mata doubled Getafe's lead shortly after Valencia defender Mouctar Diakhaby was sent off for a professional foul.

On-loan midfielder Carles Alena completed the scoring four minutes from time to complete a good day for Getafe that keeps the pressure on Valencia.

Saturday kicked off with Huesca continuing their improved form with a 1-1 draw away to Eibar with both goals coming in the last 10 minutes.

Sandro Ramiro put Huesca ahead in the 81st minute, but hopes of a vital three points were erased by Pape Diop's header two minutes later which gave at least some reward for Eibar's attacking intent during the 90 minutes.

The round of matches kicked off with Levante and Athletic Club warming up for Thursday's Copa del Rey semi-final with a 1-1 draw with both goals coming from the penalty spot as Roger Marti opened the scoring for Levante 10 minutes before halftime and Raul Garcia canceled that goal out after the break.
