LA PAZ, March 1 (Xinhua) -- Bolivia head coach Cesar Farias said Monday that his job will be on the line when La Verde meets Peru and Uruguay in FIFA World Cup qualifiers next month.

Bolivia has just one point from their opening four qualifiers and are already in danger of falling out of contention for a place in Qatar next year.

However, Farias, who was appointed Bolivia manager for a second time in August 2019, said he relished the ruthless nature of managing an international team.

"I love challenges and being on the razor's edge. It is the natural condition of a coach," the 47-year-old Venezuelan told a news conference.

"There are certain results that can decide a coach's future. That goes with the job," he added.

Bolivia will host Peru in La Paz on March 25 before facing Uruguay in Montevideo five days later.

"If we fill ourselves with an atmosphere of optimism and positivity, we'll give ourselves a great chance [against Peru]," Farias said, adding that the task against Uruguay would likely be more difficult.

The top four-ranked teams at the end of the South American qualifiers will earn an automatic berth in the World Cup while the fifth side will advance to an intercontinental playoff. Enditem
