BERLIN, March 6 (Xinhua) -- Leipzig staged a faultless performance at Freiburg and took its sixth straight win in the Bundesliga to move atop the standings for the moment.

The Bulls dominated Freiburg over 90 minutes and took all three points on the road thanks to the goals from Christopher Nkunku, Alexander Sorloth and Emil Forsberg.

It was a tough piece of work for Julian Nagelsmann's men, as Freiburg defended deep and disrupted the flow of the game.

With 16 minutes gone, the visitors eventually produced its first half chance as Sorloth unleashed a shot goalwards.

Freiburg's defense kept Leipzig on the distance but as the game clock ticked the visitors gained momentum and opened the scoring in the 41st minute when Yussuf Poulsen squared into the path of Nkunku, who made no mistake from close range.

After the restart, Freiburg assumed control but wasn't able to cause damage meanwhile Leipzig showed no mercy and doubled its advantage in the 64th minute after Nkunku rounded goalkeeper Florian Muller before teeing up for Sorloth, who tapped home into the open goal.

Leipzig continued on the front foot and should have made it three in the 72nd minute but substitute Hwang Hee-chan missed from a promising position.

The visitors sealed the deal moments later as Sorloth's assist allowed Forsberg to drill the ball with a well-placed shot from 16 meters into the top-right corner.

With the result, Leipzig temporarily leapfrogged leaders Bayern Munich, while Freiburg stay eighth in the standings.

Elsewhere, struggling Hertha Berlin returned to winning ways after securing a 2-1 comeback win against Augsburg.

Wolfsburg's nine-game unbeaten streak came to an end after Hoffenheim's Andrej Kramaric ensured a 2-1 win.

Bayer Leverkusen returned into the top five as Patrik Schick's sole goal left struggling Borussia Monchengladbach empty handed, and Eintracht Frankfurt shared the spoils with Stuttgart following a 1-1 draw. Enditem
