BRATISLAVA, April 6 (Xinhua) -- In the previously postponed match of the 37th round of the Slovak basketball premiership SBL, the Levice Patriots overpowered Inter Bratislava 82-66 on Monday to secure one of the top two spots in the standings with only two rounds left to play in the regular season.

The top two teams will advance straight to the semifinals and Inter Bratislava was ranked fourth with 18 wins and 16 losses.

The home team started off better and built a lead which gradually expanded and never surrendered. "We knew what was at stake and I am extremely happy we managed to win thanks to our team play," said Levice coach Michal Madzin after the final buzzer and third straight victory.

"I didn't see a single fighter in my squad today. We lost in the rebounding department and also in every other. We were missing one of our key players Michael Fusek and it turned into a big issue as no one stepped up. We only have one choice, continue to work and fight," explained Inter coach Oleg Melescenko.
