RIO DE JANEIRO, May 11 (Xinhua) -- A first-half goal from Brazil under-23 left-back Felipe Jonatan handed Santos a 1-0 home victory over Boca Juniors in their Copa Libertadores Group C match on Tuesday.
Jonatan received a Kaio Jorge cross from the right wing and dribbled between two defenders before dispatching a diagonal shot beyond the reach of goalkeeper Augstin Rossi.
The result at Estadio Vila Belmiro left Santos second in the group with six points, three points behind leaders Barcelona SC and ahead of Boca on goal difference.
Meanwhile, Barcelona SC suffered their first defeat of the campaign as Bolivia's The Strongest beat the Ecuadorian side 2-0 in La Paz. Jair Reinoso scored either side of halftime in what turned out to be the hosts' only shots on target.
Despite the result, Barcelona need to win only one of their last two group matches to secure a berth in the knockout stage. The Strongest are last in the group with just three points in four outings.
