COTONOU, May 18 (Xinhua) -- 21-year-old cyclist Paul Daumont from Burkina Faso won the 100km long second stage of Benin's 16th International Cycling Tour on Tuesday, Beninese cycling federation(FBC) reported.
Daumont, who won the first stage of the competition, rode the distance between Toucountouna and Djougou in 2 hours 15 minutes and 53 seconds.
The next stage, a 105 km criterium, is scheduled for Wednesday in Parakou, about 331km north of the economic capital Cotonou.
Riders from the six African countries Nigeria, Cote d'Ivoire, Senegal, Niger, Burkina-Faso, and Benin kicked off the competition.
Slated to close on May 22 in Cotonou, the six-stage race comprises 632km runs and 1,170km transshipping. Enditem
