RIO DE JANEIRO, July 22 (Xinhua) -- Renato Augusto has returned to his former club Corinthians after parting ways with China's Beijing Guoan, the Brazilian Serie A side said on Thursday.
The 33-year-old midfielder agreed to a contract that runs until December 2023, according to a statement on Corinthians' official website. It did not disclose financial details.
"I would like to thank President Duilio [Alves] and the entire board for their confidence, and thank the fans," Renato said in a video posted by Corinthians on social media. "Since rumors began that I might return to Corinthians, I've received a lot of love and support on social media."
Renato made 152 appearances across all competitions for Beijing Guoan following his 2015 move from Corinthians.
He will be unable to play for the Sao Paulo outfit until August 1, when Brazil's international transfer window opens. Enditem
