Smartphone Maker to Showcase the New Galaxy A9s Model

November 27th, 2018. BEIJING – Sina Sports has signed an agreement with Samsung as an Official Partner for the Sina Elite League (SEL) international 3x3 basketball invitational tournament. Samsung will introduce its newest product, the Galaxy A9s smartphone, at the highly-anticipated tournament to be held on December 15-17, 2018 at M Space of Wukesong Arena in Beijing, China.

The 3-day, 16 team tournament will feature some of the best FIBA 3x3 players and teams in the world, including the top two FIBA-ranked teams Novi Sad from the UAE and Liman from Serbia; the 3BALL New Yorkies, champions of 3Ball USA Showcase and representing the United States; other elite teams from 11 countries and regions including Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Mongolia, the Philippines, Russia, and Taiwan; and the top five teams from the 2018 Sina Golden League Finals.

As an Official Partner of the SEL, Samsung will showcase its new model Galaxy A9s at this event. The highlight feature of the Galaxy A9s is the rear quad-camera setup. During the SEL, the Galaxy A9s will be featured during the slam dunk competition and incorporated into the live streaming, capturing the most exciting moments from various perspective for audiences. Samsung logo will also appear on the jerseys of the South Korea, China, Russia and the Philippines teams.

With the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games approaching, the value of high quality 3x3 basketball events is becoming increasingly prominent as 3x3 basketball is set to make its debut as an Olympic sport. By becoming an Official Partner of the SEL, Samsung will be able to take advantage of the increased attention and focus on the sport. The Samsung sponsorship demonstrates the growing international influence and commercial value of the Sina Elite League and its 3x3 basketball operation.

The SEL is an extension of the successful Sina Golden League domestic 3x3 basketball tournament created and operated by Sina Sports. After four years of development, the Sina Golden League is now the world’s largest 3x3 basketball competitions. The Sina Golden League was recently awarded the Gold Award in the Best Mass Participation Event of the Year category at the 2018 SPIA Asia - Asia's Sports Industry Awards & Conference Award Ceremony earlier this month. The Sina Golden League held its 4th edition this year with 82 cities and over 64,000 participants. The Sina Golden League began to expand internationally this year through establishing its first overseas stop in the Philippines, sending its elite players try out for the professional basketball league in Australia, and participating in the 3BALL USA Showcase in the United States. The broadcast deal with beIN SPORTS for the 2018 Golden League Final allowed the Sina Golden League to become the first mass participation event in China to reach an international audience on a large scale. The Sina Golden League is represented by Mediapro Asia as its international commercial and media rights agency.
