The Second Edition of Sina Elite League Tour 2019 Manila Held Successfully

September 23rd, MANILA - The 2nd edition of Sina Elite League Tour (SELT) 2019 – Manila was successfully held at Market Market in the Philippines over the last weekend. Team Fronthrow X Azi & Tets Travel Tours (Fronthrow X) claimed the championship title of the SELT – Manila 2019 after defeating Team YULZ TMT by a close margin 21-20 during the final. Team Fronthrow X took home $3,000 prize money as well as an Alcatel smartphone for each player courtesy of our event sponsor Alcatel, and earned the tickets to represent the Philippines competing with world-class teams in the 2nd edition of the 16-team international invitation tournament Sina Elite League (SEL) this December in Beijing. The two day event generated more than 100k video views online and attracted more than 5,000 people at the scene.

Landing in the Philippines for the second time with fully upgraded system, SELT2019 Manila attracted the participation of both professional and well-known amateur players including many imported foreign players. The champions Fronthrow X consists of several high profile players, including Joel Brokenbrough from Delaware, USA, who played college ball at Fullerton College and averaged 20 points and 8 rebounds per game and was a first-team All-conference selection. Two other players, Jerwin Gaco and JR Cawaling both playing professionally for the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL).

The two day event was exclusively broadcast by Solar TV and streamed live on the official Facebook page of Sina 3x3 as well as Sina Weibo, the leading social media platform in China. Sina Sports also featured and promoted the Manila stop across all four Sina 3x3 social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter in order to better serve and bring high quality content to the international audience and players.

The second edition of Manila stop was the fruition of the strategic partnership Sina Sports established with Mediapro Asia, the Asia branch of Mediapro, a world’s leading communications and production company and sports media giant in Spain. Mediapro Asia has been dedicating in licencing and expanding Sina Golden League internationally.

In this upcoming weekend, SELT will be moving to the 3rd stop in Taipei on September 28 for the very first time. All winners of the SELT2019, along with the top 3 Chinese teams from SGL2019 Finals, will be invited to compete in the SEL this December slated from 6th to 8th in Beijing and compete with 10 top-level teams from 10 different countries and potentially one ex-NBA team consisted of 4 ex-NBA players.
