BEIJING, Feb. 6-- Yao Ming scored 15 points as the Houston Rockets beat the New York Knicks 93-89, extending their win streak to three games.

Tracy McGrady bagged 23 points and David Wesley added 19 as the Houston Rockets downed the New York Knicks 93-89 Sunday at Madison Square Garden.

Yao Ming had 15 points and Stromile Swift added 12 to the Houston cause, the matinee kicking off a quiet day in the NBA with just three early games scheduled to avoid a clash with the Super Bowl.

Jamal Crawford had 24 points to pace New York while Jalen Rose, acquired from the Toronto Raptors on Friday, had 16 points and a season high 11 assists.

Trailing 92-89, Rose had a chance to be the hero in his Madison Square Garden debut for his new team but his three-point attempt with just three seconds to play was partially blocked.

Wesley took control of the ball and was immediately fouled, making one-of-two free throw attempts to put the contest out of reach.

In Toronto, Elton Brand poured in 30 points, including six in overtime, and Sam Cassell added 27 as the streaking Los Angeles Clippers edged the Raptors 115-113 to claim their eighth win in nine games.

Cuttino Mobley contributed 20 points and Chris Kaman chipped in with 16 points and 15 rebounds as the Clippers moved 11 games above .500 for the first time in franchise history.

Chris Bosh had 29 points, 16 rebounds and six assists to lead the Raptors while Morris Peterson contributed 25 points to the loss.

In Sacramento, Mike Bibby hit for 23 points and Kevin Martin added 20 guiding the Kings to a 96-78 win over the Utah Jazz.

Recently acquired Ron Artest contributed nine points to the win. Enditem
