La Volpe, the former head coach of Mexico national team who replaced Alfio Basile at the Argentine soccer giants after the World Cup campaign in Germany, blamed Boca's playing formation of 4-3-1-2. "I don't like this scheme... but I will impose my own style over time," he said, adding that he would keep the pattern for the moment since Boca had been playing in this style for more than two years. "When a team is winning, it is hard to impose change immediately," he said. La Volpe told media that his relationship with former Argentina soccer star Diego Maradona was good, contradicting some media reports. "The media have said many things that are not true," La Volpe said, describing Maradona as very supportive. La Volpe said thanks to Mexico in helping him get the post in one of the world's most important soccer sides. "Mexico's players had reached international status, with more than seven of the national team now playing in Europe," he said. Enditem
