"Pele" to visit Chile in June

SANTIAGO, May 9 (Xinhua) - World soccer star Brazilian Edson Arantes do Nascimento "Pele", will visit Chile on June 4 as Copa Libertadores ambassador, an official statement said on Friday.

"Pele", considered for many the best player in history, will arrive Santiago, Chile to perform a series of activities organized by Santander Bank, sponsor of the tournament.

"Pele" does not visit Chile for eight years and in this time he will meet with Santander's employees and clients and collage students.

American Division of Banco Santander's advisor and director Francisco Luzon, general manager Jesus Zabalza and Chilean Banco Santander President Mauricio Larrain will escort Brazilian idol.

"Pele's career inside and outside the field is and example of desire to excel, leadership and internationalization that we want to share with our clients and employees", Larrain said at the press release.

Among many milestones, former player do Santos, 62, made 1,282 goals during his career, was three times world champion with the Brazilian soccer team and was chosen Athlete of the Century by the International Olympic Committee.
