World number one Serena Williams defeated her sister Venus 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 to reach the final of the ATP and WTA hardcourt tennis tournament here.

Serena, who claimed her 10th Grand Slam title at the Australian Open this year, booked a meeting with Victoria Azarenka of Belarus, who beat eighth-seeded Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-3, 2-6, 7-5.

Williams will be gunning for a sixth Miami title, which would break the record she shares with German icon Steffi Graf.

The 19-year-old Azarenka, who won the first two titles of her career earlier this year in Brisbane and Memphis, will be playing in her first Premier level final.
