DALLAS, Unite States, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- In front of some 108,000 fans, the East conference defeated the West 141-139 in the National Basketball Association (NBA) All-Star Game held in Dallas, Texas.
With a splendid performance of 28 points, 11 assists, five steals and six rebounds, the East's point guard Dwyane Wade, from Miami Heat, was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the competition.
His mates also did a shining play. LeBron James of Cleveland Cavaliers scored 25 points and six assists, Dwight Howard of Orlando Magic scored 17 points, while Chris Bosh of Toronto Raptors offered 23 points and 10 rebounds.
In the West squad, Carmelo Anthony of Denver Nuggets marked 27 points and 10 rebounds. He was also widely believed to be the MVP should his team could defeat the East.
Anthony's Nuggets teammate Chauncey Billups contributed 17 points and five assists, and shot a key ball to draw the two teams by 137-137.
Unfortunately, one turnover and one personal foul by Deron Williams of Utah Jazz offered the East's Wade a chance to get two points. After Dirk Nowitzki of Dallas Mavericks scored two points for the West, Billups' foul made Bosh to fix the victory by two times of penalties.
Nowitzki scored 22 points, Steve Nash of Phoenix Suns assisted 13 times. The field goal percentage of the West was 51, six points lower than that of the East.
"It was a good game and went down to the end but came out tonight and wanted to be aggressive, probably the most aggressive I have been in the All-Star game," said Wade.
Some 108,000 people on Sunday night flooded into the Cowboy Stadium, making a Guinness record for attendance at a basketball game.
"It was unbelievable to be in front of 108,000, ...To be part of history is something that you always wish and dream for," said LeBron James.
