Chinese former Olympics champion paddler Kong Linghui who had drunk had a fight with a building security guard in Beijing’s Chaoyang district early Friday morning, media reports said.

Chaoyang police confirmed the conflict between Kong, now a coach of the Chinese female ping-pong national team, and the security guard, and said the two sides had reached reconciliation with the help of police, Beijing Morning Post reported.

The security department of the Beijing World Financial Centre said the beaten security guard didn't know Kong, who failed to show the required certificate to enter the building, before the fight, Beijing Youth Daily reported.

The guard had been sent to hospital for treatment and the police didn’t disclose the amount of compensation from Kong, Beijing Morning Post said.
