Celtics president Danny Ainge said in early June that he was hoping to agree a new deal with Horford in July.

Horford, a five-time All-Star, averaged 13.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.3 blocks per game last season for the Celtics. The former No. 3 pick in the 2007 draft has averaged 14.1 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game across his career.
