China's top female tennis player Wang Qiang blew away Zou Xinyi 6-0, 6-1 on Tuesday to reach the third round of the Chinese Tennis Association (CTA) Tour in Anning, southwest China's Yunnan province.

Wang, world No. 29 and the tournament's top seed, took control of the match from the outset, with strong returns and dominating baseline play. Her young opponent only managed to hold serve in the third game of the second set.

Wang said she cherished the opportunity of playing in the tournament, adding that she would try her hardest regardless of her opponent.

Zhang Zhizhen, top seed in the men's singles, progressed to the final 16 with a straight-set victory against Yang Zijiang.

Zhang broke his opponent in the seventh game of the first set and held serve to claim the set 6-4. In the second set, Yang lost momentum and Zhang ultimately took it 6-3.

Other seeded players, including women's singles second seed Han Xinyun and men's singles fourth seed Zhang Ze, also moved comfortably through the second round.
