Leung won the best actor award for his role in the romance "2046." He beat Sephen Chow, who directed and starred in "Kung Fu Hustle," the highest-grossing local film in Hong Kong history. Andy Lau was also nominated for the award for his performance in "A World Without Thieves."

Liu got the best actress award for her work in "A World Without Thieves."

The best-supporting actress prize went to Bai Ling, who starred in the horror film "Three ... Extremes: Dumplings."

The Bauhinia award is named after Hong Kong's territorial flower.
