HONG KONG, Apr 16 (AP) -- Hong Kong pop star Joey Yung says one of her next goals is to make it big in mainland China, and she's holding her first solo concert there next Friday in the southern city of Guangzhou, a newspaper reported Saturday.
"My base in Hong Kong is already pretty firm," Yung was quoted as saying by the South China Morning Post.
"I've worked with a number of Hong Kong and Taiwanese musicians on previous albums, but it will be interesting to collaborate with musicians on the mainland," she was quoted as saying.
Yung also plans to perform at a May 18 concert in Hong Kong that will be a tribute to Hong Kong stars from the 1980s. She will sing songs by Roman Tam Pak-sin and Anita Mui, the newspaper said.
"I won't imitate them but will present their songs with my own style," she was quoted as saying. "I'll also be dressed very extravagantly."
