Tsunami death toll hits 29 in HK

HONG KONG, June 6(Xinhuanet)-- The death of one more foreign Hong Kong resident in last December's tsunami has been confirmed through the victim identification process, bringing the death toll involving Hong Kong people to 29, a government press release said Monday.

Meanwhile, 11 Hong Kong residents in Thailand are still missing. The government will continue to follow up cases and provide practical assistance to Hong Kong residents and their families where necessary.

Police have contacted relatives of missing Hong Kong residents to collect DNA samples for analysis on a voluntary basis. Analyzed DNA information and fingerprint records have been sent to the Thai authorities for identification. Enditem
