HONG KONG, June 21(Xinhuanet)-- Acting Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region(HKSAR), Henry Tang Tuesday expressed his sincere congratulations on Donald Tsang's being appointed by the State Council, China's central government, as thenew Chief Executive of Hong Kong.
Speaking at a press conference at the government headquarters, Tang said Tsang will leave for Beijing on Thursday to take his oath at a ceremony held by the central government on June 24.
Accompanying Tsang will be the Secretary for Justice Elsie Leung, Secretary for Constitutional Affairs Stephen Lam and several other officials. Tsang will return to Hong Kong on June 24.
Tang said having outstanding leadership as well as extensive experience in administration, Tsang has won a wide range of support of members of the Election committee.
Tang said he believed in the next two years, Tsang will, in accordance with the Basic Law and the principle of"One Country, Two Systems," lead the community forward and maintain its prosperity and stability. Enditem
