HONG KONG, Sept 9 (AP) -- Hong Kong's postal authority will launch a series of stamps featuring Disney characters on Monday, the day the territory's Disneyland theme park opens.

The stamps will bear pictures of Mickey Mouse in a magician's outfit, Dumbo, Pluto, Simba and Nala from "The Lion King," and showcase Disneyland's four themed areas: Main Street U.S.A, Fantasyland, Adventureland and Tomorrowland, a preview on the postal service's Web site Friday showed.

The stamps are available on special envelopes showing Mickey Mouse leading a marching band.

The postal service is also releasing a Hong Kong Disneyland postmark with an image of the park's Sleeping Beauty Castle.

The Hong Kong government hopes Hong Kong Disneyland, a joint venture with The Walt Disney Co., will boost employment and tourism by transforming this financial and shopping center into a popular family vacation destination.
