KMT honorary chairman arrives in Shenyang for mailand tour

SHENYANG, Oct. 14 (Xinhuanet) -- Lien Chan, honorary chairman of the Chinese Kuomintang (KMT) Friday arrived in Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province, starting his tour on the Chinese mainland.

Lien was greeted at Taoxian International Airport by Chen Yunlin, director of the Taiwan Work Office of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, and Wang Weizhong, deputy secretary of the Liaoning provincial committee of CPC.

Lien will visit places where his mother had lived, and meet and call on relatives and friends in the city on behalf of his mother.He will also pay respects to his grandparents at their tomb.

In addition, Lien will visit the history museum of the war of resistance against Japanese aggression.

This is Lien's second visit to the Chinese mainland this year.

Previously, Lien made an epoch-making visit to the mainland from April 26 to May 3, at the invitation of the CPC Central Committee and Hu Jintao, the CPC Central Committee general secretary.
