Earthquake jolts sea waters northeast of Taiwan

HONG KONG, Oct. 16(Xinhuanet)-- An earthquake measuring 6.6 onthe Richter scale jolted sea waters northeast of Taiwan at 11:53 p.m.(15:58 GMT) late Saturday.

According to a press release by the Hong Kong Observatory onSunday morning, the epicenter was initially determined to be 25.3north latitude and 123.3 east longitude, about 180 km east ofTaipei. Enditem
