HK to issue stamps featuring late pop singers

HONG KONG, Oct. 17(Xinhuanet)-- Hong Kong Post announced here Monday that a special stamp issue featuring"Hong Kong Pop Singers" will be issued on Nov. 8.

The Postmaster General Allan Chiang said it is the first time Hong Kong Post had issued stamps featuring Hong Kong pop singers, noting the issue is a salute to five late pop stars who have left their mark on Canto pop history, including Wong Ka Kui, Danny Chan, Roman Tam, Leslie Cheung and Anita Mui.

Chiang said the stamps have been issued to commemorate the great achievements of some of Hong Kong's greatest entertainers.

They were all much loved and respected for their talent and for the joy they brought to the local music scene. Hong kong Post is pleased to recognize them in this very special stamp issue, he said. Enditem
