HONG KONG, Nov. 27(Xinhuanet)-- Hong Kong media on Sunday hailed the upcoming visit to Hong Kong by Chinese taikonauts Fei Junlong and Nie Haisheng and leading engineers of Shenzhou-6, China's second manned space mission.

"Shenzhou-6 Heros Land Hong Kong" reads the front-page headline of Oriental Daily News, giving a two-page review of the manned space mission named Shenzhou-6.

The 30-strong delegation will arrive in Hong Kong around noon Sunday. During their three days of stay in Hong Kong, they will meet with all circles of life in Hong Kong, attending mass celebrations, giving science presentations and communicating with the public.

Half day before their arrival, photos of the two taikonauts, reviews of Chinese history of space exploration, stories related to the Shenzhou-6 mission and the delegation's schedule in Hong Kong occupied front-pages of most Hong Kong newspapers.

Three Chinese-language newspapers, Ming Pao, Singtao Daily and Wen Wei Po, all issued colored cover pages for the event, publishing photos of Fei Junlong and Nie Haisheng to serve local space fans' collection.

The coming visit of the delegation has started a new round of space heat in Hong Kong, said the reports.

"The visit has set off an upsurge of Hong Kong people's interest in space knowledge, especially the youngsters' interest in the development of Chinese space technology," said the Hong Kong Commercial Daily.

Many Hong Kong people interviewed by newspapers said they are proud of the success of the Shenzhou-6 manned space mission in mid-October and eager to have a look of the taikonauts in person.

"The aim is to enhance among our youths the understanding of our country's aerospace technology development and enable them to learn from the scientists and astronauts the spirit of perseverance," said Donald Tsang, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Enditem
