MACAO, Jan. 2(Xinhuanet)-- The Gongbei customs check-point, linking China's Macao Special Administrative Region and the mainland city of Zhuhai, recorded 260,000 passengers on the New Year's Day. "The peak time" dominated the whole day and kept all the 80 passage channels crowded, reported Monday's Macao Daily News, the leading local Chinese newspaper, quoting sources from the Zhuhai checkpoint. Local analysts contributed the strong passenger flow to the NewYear holiday and the warm and fine weather in Macao. Fisherman's Wharf, a themed tourism attraction which was opened in Macao on Saturday, was assumed to be another stimulation for the mainland travelers. The checkpoint logged 73 million passengers in 2005. Enditem
