HK grants relief fund for Jiangxi quake victims

HONG KONG, Jan. 4(Xinhuanet)-- Hong Kong decided Wednesday to grant 1 million HK dollars from its Disaster Relief Fund to help earthquake victims in Jiangxi province, southeast of Chinese Mainland.

The quake measuring 5.7 on Richter scale hit the province late in November and affected the lives of nearly 5 million people.

The Disaster Relief Fund was established in December, 1993 for emergency help in places outside Hong Kong. Enditem
