Car crash kills Japanese man in Hong Kong

HONG KONG, Jan 7 (AP) -- A taxi rammed into a truck Saturday in Hong Kong, killing a 39-year-old Japanese man riding in the cab, police said.

The taxi hit the rear of the truck as it was trying to swerve into another lane to avoid the vehicle, a police said.

Police would only identify the victim by his surname, Takahiro, and could not immediately provide his hometown.

The crash also injured two other taxi passengers, a 43-year-old Japanese man surnamed Igarashi and a 25-year-old Hong Kong male surnamed Mok, police said.
