HONG KONG, Jan. 7(Xinhuanet)-- World number two Kim Clijsters of Belgium beat world number one Lindsay Davenport of the United States 6-3, 7-5 in the final of an exhibition tennis tournament here on Saturday. Clijsters fought back from 3-1 down in the first set to break twice for 5-3 before serving out the set. Davenport seemed to dominate the second set as leading it 5-3 before Clijsters recovered to break twice and won with an over headsmash on her own serve after 75 minutes. Clijsters said she found it tough to pull away from the 29-year-old American as both players made plenty of errors and struggled to hold serve. "It was a matter of the person who was making less errors was going to win today," said Clijsters. "It was hard to get a rhythm on her strokes because she would go through patches when she would make a few mistakes and then hitsome unbelievable shots," she said. Clijsters said she was pleased with her win and preparations sofar for the Australian Open slated for Jan. 16-29 in Melbourne. "The tournament has been perfect to work on a lot of things andlook at things we need to work on. I'm going to Sydney next week and there's definately a lot of improvement to look forward to," she added. Enditem
