5 maintenance workers killed by train in Taiwan

HONG KONG, March 10(Xinhuanet)-- Five railway maintenance workers were killed by a passenger train in Hualien of Taiwan early Friday morning, according to reports reaching here from Taipei.

The five workers, in their working suits, were killed by a passenger train from Taipei to Hualien while repairing a part of railway, which was not locked.

When the rescue workers rushed to the scene, the five people were found dead.

No casualties of the train passengers have been reported.

The cause of the accident is under investigation. Enditem
