BEIJING, March 10(Xinhuanet)-- A musical play on a fairy tale produced by the Children's Art Theater of Beijing has been well received by Taiwan audiences and hailed as "China's Harry Potter" by media in Taiwan.

The children's drama, entitled Maze, will be performed 14 times in 10 days. It started on March 3 at Taiwan's Qinzi Theater in Taipei.

So far, the play has raked in nearly 3 million Taiwan dollars (about 9,200 U.S. dollars) after only six performances.

Some schools and institutions in central Taiwan and Kaohsiung have invited the Maze group to perform, and more than 2,000 students in southern Taiwan are ready to come to Taipei to enjoy the event.

The drama, featuring the characters Jelly, Big Shoes and Pudding, is a joint production by avant-garde stage director Meng Jinghui, well-known musician San Bao from Beijing and Hong Kong star Steven Chow. Enditem
