Taiwan military plane crashed

HONG KONG, June 17 (Xinhua) -- A Taiwan military plane crashed Saturday morning in the west of Taiwan, killing one pilot and wounding another.

According to news reaching here from Taipei, the military plane crashed in a field in the western Chiayi county at 7:30 a.m. (2330GMT) after it took off from the eastern base in Taitung. The plane exploded causing a big fire.

The reason for the accident is still under investigation. Enditem
