PHNOM PNEH, June 17 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong construction delegation left here Saturday after a two-day visit to seek cooperation with their Cambodian counterparts.

The delegation comprises 25 senior executives and professionals from 24 reputable enterprises and organizations covering a wide range of businesses including real estate development, construction services and professional services.

During their stay, the delegation met with the senior officials of Cambodian Commerce Ministry and Ministry of Public Works and Transport as well as leading members of construction here.

It is the first time for a Hong Kong construction delegation to visit Cambodia. The visit "is a significant milestone forging ahead our long-term relationship in the cooperation of the construction industries among Cambodia, Chinese mainland and Hong Kong," said Lo Yiu-ching, permanent secretary for the Environment, Transport and Works (Works) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, at a meeting Friday evening.

Hong Kong has maintained close relationship with Cambodia in trade and investment, according to delegation.

"With rapid growth of the economy in Cambodia, there is a strong demand for infrastructure and related facilities, unleashing tremendous opportunities for developers, constructors and consultants," he said. "The infrastructure sector is one of the areas which we can strengthen cooperation," Lo added.

"By complementing our strengths, we could no doubt be able to achieve synergy and create a win-win outcome," he said. Enditem
