Macao to build 60 new garbage collection facilities

MACAO, July 27 (Xinhua) -- Macao's Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (CMAB) is to build 60 new garbage collection facilities this year, local media reported Thursday.

The Macao Post Daily quoted Tam Vai Man, acting director of the CMAB, as saying that his bureau is determined to "make the city cleaner and more beautiful."

The CMAB will consult the public on the locations of the new facilities, which are planned to replace some 550 roadside rubbish dumpsters, Tam told the newspaper.

Many residents and tourists brand the dumpsters "stinking eyesores," as they are overflowed with rubbish during the daytime before the night collection shift. Enditem
