Strong earthquake shakes Taiwan

HONG KONG, July 28 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale hit China's Taiwan Friday, shaking buildings in Taipei, but there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties, according to media reports from Taipei.

The quake's epicenter was located 82 kilometers east of port Nanao, a harbor town some 80 kilometers southeast of Taipei. Local weather agency was quoted as saying. Enditem
