Earthquake jolts sea waters off Taiwan

BEIJING, July 28 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 6.0 degrees on the Richter scale jolted the sea waters to the east off Taiwan's Hualien at 3:40 p.m. (Beijing Time) Friday, according to the China Seismological Bureau.

The epicenter was determined to be located at 24.1 degrees north latitude and 122.3 degrees east longitude, about 60 kilometers to the nearest coastal line of the Taiwan Island and about 130 kilometers to Taipei, according to the bureau. Enditem
