Macao chief executive concludes visit to Vietnam

HO CHI MINH CITY (Vietnam), Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- Edmund Ho Hau Wah, chief executive of China's Macao Special Administrative Region, left here on Thursday evening, ending his five-day visit to Vietnam.

During the visit, Ho met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem, Vice Chairman of Vietnam's National Assembly Nguyen Van Yeu,and chairmen of the People's Committees of southern Ho Chi Minh City and central Da Nang city.

Macao and the Vietnamese government inked cooperative deals in such fields as tourism, economy and trade, education and training. It also signed with Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City documents on the establishment of friendly and cooperative relations and on tourism cooperation, respectively.

During Ho's trip, Macao held seminars on promoting tourism and investment ties between the region and Vietnam's major cities.

The visit was made at the invitation of Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem. Enditem
