Jackie Chan finds Chris Tucker, Brett Ratner improved on set of 'Rush Hour 3'

HONG KONG, Oct 13 (AP) -- Jackie Chan said in his online diary that "Rush Hour 3" co-star Chris Tucker has become a more professional actor and that director Brett Ratner seems more mature since they all last worked together in 2001.

In a diary entry on his Web site Friday, Chan said he noticed Tucker was a changed person on the set of the movie in Paris.

"He is a real professional now. He comes to the set on time, he cares about the environment, the cast, and the crew. I find that he has become a quiet person and is rather introspective," Chan said.

"He also has great concentration and focus. All these changes I see in him make me love him more," he added.

Chan also heaped praise on Ratner, saying he now has much better control of the set since the last time the two worked together. The two also worked on "Rush Hour 2" in 2001.

"Although our director's personality is the same (he has ADHD -- Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder) and he still acts like a big baby (he's always enthusiastic, energetic, and easily excited), he has really become an experienced filmmaker," Chan said.

"He knows which camera angles he wants to use and he has complete control of the set," he said.

Chan added in the diary entry that a fountain had to be drained and cleaned for a scene in the action comedy. The scene involved Chan and Tucker in the fountain, but Chan didn't provide more details.

In the "Rush Hour" series, Chan plays a Hong Kong police officer and Tucker portrays his Los Angeles counterpart, with the movie's humor drawing from the cultural differences between the two.
