Macao launches int'l gaming show

MACAO, March 14 (Xinhua) -- The 6th International Gaming and Entertainment Expo. was held here on Wednesday at the Macao Tower, a multi-functional conference building.

Some 100 international gaming businesses displayed on the exhibition their products covering gaming facilities, casino security systems, surveillance systems, bank-note checking equipment, high-tech chips and audio-light facilities.

Organizers said the three-day show was expected to be attended by around 1,000 professionals and experts in the gaming industry from countries and regions including the United States, Canada, Israel, France, the Philippines, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Singapore, Britain and Hong Kong.

Macao, a region with a population of 500,800, has a gaming-business history of 150 years. A total of 25 casinos are currently in operation.
